Purex Ultra Packs Review

Today's Review is about Purex's new product that just came out.  It's called Purex Ultra Packs.  They have 2 scents: Mountain Breeze and Free & Clear.  What's different about this product is that they are little packs (like the dishwasher ones)  that you just throw into your washer drum.  You can use them in regular and HE washing machines.

Purex Ultra Packs makes it a little bit faster to do laundry if you're trying to just run out.  Instead of pouring and measuring the liquid out, you just throw a pack into the washing machine before you put your clothes in.  I like the simplicity about this product because when you're in a rush or dealing with rowdy children you just throw it in, instead of getting the liquid everywhere or on your hands.  Overall I give this product 5 out of 5 stars.  It cleaned my clothes and made them fresh smelling.  The colors and whites were brighter and cleaner.

So in case you are wondering, "What are Purex Ultra Packs?", here's a few facts about this product:

  • They are new convenient pre-dosed liquid detergent packs
  • They manage to squeeze the same Triple Action liquid formula in just one powerful pack
  • No Mess!  No Spills!
  • 2x Concentrated detergent in each pack, which gives them double the cleaning power
  • Safe for all Machines
  • Two different scents: Mountain Breeze and Free & Clear
How do I use them?

  • Make sure your hands are dry before handling the packs
  • Put one pack in the washer drum, then put clothes in
  • If you have a front loader, DO NOT put it into the drawer, put it directly into the drum before your clothes

If you would like to try this product out for yourself, you can request a free sample here.

Voskos Greek Yogurt with Granola Review

Recently I was at my local Publix Supermarket and a sale caught my eye.  Voskos Greek Yogurt was 10 for $10 which to me is a good deal when normally they are close to $2 a piece.  When I reached for my normal yogurt, I noticed that they had a new product out.  It was the same yogurt just with a side cup of Granola.  I thought to myself that sounded pretty good, so I grabbed a few flavors to try out.

I grabbed 3 different flavors to try out: Strawberry, Vanilla, and Blueberry.  My favorite I would have to say was Vanilla with the Granola.  It was pretty good and the Vanilla flavor didn't take away from the granola which was a plus.  Now the thing I was most amused by was the packaging.  The side with granola flips over straight into the yogurt with no mess!  I'm not sure if I'm just easily amused, but I was super excited about this feature.  See below,  isn't that cool?!

Amazing isn't it?  lol  The other plus was that my 2 year old daughter loved it too.  I didn't want to share and I thought she would only eat maybe a bite or two, but she ended up eating the whole thing!

At 140 Calories a cup, Granola included, it's not a bad snack or breakfast.

If you would like to give this product a try, don't forget to go here to print out a coupon.

Huggies Pull-Ups Review and Giveaway!

Are you currently or about to start potty training your little one?

Well Huggies is a good place to start.  They have 2 different types of Pull-ups to choose from.  This way you can choose which way is the best for your child.  They have the Cooling Alert Pull-ups that have a cool sensation when they get wet to let your little on know what's going on and to warn them that they have to go!

And they have the learning designs.  These have a picture on them that fade when they get wet.  So when the picture disappears your child knows they need to go!  As I put it if they want the picture to stay you have to go potty!

My daughter uses the Cool Alert Pull-ups for she hates when they "get cool" and tells me when she needs to go potty or when she needs to be changed when she doesn't make it.  Now since we're in the early stages of training, she still uses diapers at night and some times during the early evening.

Now the Girl's version has Disney Princesses on them as the Boy's designs are Disney Cars.  The available sizes are 2T-3T and 3T-4T.  The best thing about Huggies Pull-ups are that the sides can open and be put back together unlike the other name brand.  So there aren't accidental rips that make you waste one, which always a plus!

To help you along the way on your potty training journey, Huggies has the POTTY DANCE!  This is a good way to get your child excited about potty training.  My daughter and I have fun learning this dance and doing it to remind her to let us know when she has to go!

To learn more about these products, you can go here.  You can sign up and find money-saving coupons.  Plus the site has a great community if you have any questions or need more advice from other parents.

Ocean Spray Fruit Snack Review

I recently received Ocean Spray Fruit Snacks to try out and review.  I was sent the Assorted Fruits and Berries & Cherries flavors.

If you're like me and have children, this is the perfect on-the-go snack to grab a few packs and throw into your purse for when the children get cranky  hungry.  Each pack is only 80 calories (10 pouches per box), contain 100% of your daily value of Vitamin C, and are Gluten Free.  My husband and daughter both really liked them.  It's tough to say which flavor, but they were gone within the week between the three of us.

The other plus is that Ocean Spray Fruit Snacks have Box tops for Education! Box Tops are coupons that you can clip from hundreds of different products, including this one, to give to your school.  Your school will earn 10¢ for each box top redeemed.  You can find other products that have box tops here.

If you would like to try these out for yourselves, don't forget to print out this coupon to help you save $1.10/2 boxes!  Let me know what you think!  Did you have a favorite flavor?

Downy Unstopables Review and Giveaway!

A few months ago I was given a free sample of Downy Unstopables from Vocalpoint.  The scent I received was called "Fresh".  First look you would think this was a fabric softener, but it's not.  It's a scent booster to be used with or without softener.  Supposedly the scent from this product last will last longer than 30 days.   I noticed the scent close to about one weeks in my closet.  To me, that's an alright amount of time.

First thing I noticed when I opened the box was it smelt like Spring to me, which instantly put a smile on my face.  They also have another scent called "Lush".  In fact, the other thing I saw was that they are little bead like  things.  They reminded me of candy melts, silly I know.  See for yourself:

I quickly looked up to see if it could be used in the HE washers, and was thrilled to see that it does!  All you have to do is throw some into the cap and throw them into the drum, not drawer.  I thought that was kind of cool.  Simple to use for a busy Mom.

My only complaint is that the scent didn't last as long as it says it would.  It was very simple to use, but for the price I've seen it in stores, I don't think I would personally buy it.  But again, I'm not really too big on things like this.  I usually use laundry detergent and that's it.  No dryers sheets either.

I have a free sample I would like to send to a lucky reader to give Downy Unstopables a try.  Just leave a comment with your first name and last initial and the state you are from.  Let me know how you do your laundry to save money!  Contest ends on March 15, 2012 at Midnight EST.  I will announce the winner following 3 days after the 15th and they will have 48 hours to respond or the prize will go to another winner. Winners will be chosen via Random.org.

Purex Triple Action Review

Purex has this new detergent out called Purex Triple Action.  This detergent will be across all the liquid detergents. Purex promises that this detergent will leave your clothes bright, white and clean, and for half the price of other brands.  This detergent can be used in HE and traditional washers, just like all their detergents.

I was given the Free and Clear to test out, even though they do have a Mountain Breeze scent out.  This is the first time I have ever dealt with a free and clear detergent.  First thing I noticed was that it seriously had no scent what so ever.  I liked that cause I have some bad allergies and certain things trigger them.

After 2 weeks of testing this detergent out on toddler clothes and my husband's work clothes, I did find that they seemed cleaner and didn't have a strong perfume from the detergent after the wash cycle was over.  I was defiantly happy about that! Overall I would say this detergent does what it's suppose to do and does it well.  I love the price because it's about half the price of the next leading brand and does just as well.  I would give this product 2 thumbs up!

You can purchase this at any big retailer near you.  They will also have free samples coming out soon at FreeSamplePurex.com, so keep you eyes open for it!  This way you can see how good Purex Triple Action is yourself, and not just trust the advertisements like most companies make you do.

Let me know what you think of this product if you've tested it out!  What kind of tough stains do you have to battle?

Purex Complete with Zout Review

I have been a member of the Purex Insiders for only a awhile now.  It's a site to where you can receive full sized samples to test out and review on your blog.  Let me know if you would like an invite to the site.  I was lucky enough to receive the Purex complete with Zout to review.

I was outside when the magical Fedex truck arrived and to my surprise, I had a package a few months ago.  This is what I got:

So I got excited and opened it up to see what I had received.

Needless to say, I was excited.  It came just in time for laundry day.

 About this Product:

The scent they sent me was the Fresh Morning Burst Fragrance.  They also have a Free and Clear available also if you prefer a hypoallergenic version.

This product is a laundry detergent and stain remover combined into one.  So you'll be saving money even without the use of coupons, since you'll be buying 1 product instead of 2.   You can use it as a normal laundry detergent or just as a pre-treater which makes it great for everyday use.   To use as a detergent, use as you normally would.  To use it as a pre-treater, pour it on the stain directly, rub, and wait for 5 minutes before putting it in the washer.

Purex Complete with Zout includes 3 different stain fighting enzymes to help rid of those nasty stains.  The 3 different enzymes are as follows:

  • Protease: Works against protein stains such as grass and blood.
  • Amylase: Works against starchy stains such as chocolate and tomato sauce
  • Mannanase: Works against Guar, which is used as a thickener in many foods, such as ice cream, BBQ sauce, and salad dressing.  That's because they're super sticky!

Now a big thing I thought was pretty cool was that you can use this in ANY washing machine.  Yes, that includes the new High Efficiency (HE) versions.  Which brings me to the price.  Usually the HE versions of detergent costs more than a "normal" washing machine detergent costs.  This list price for Purex Complete with Zout will range from: $3.49-$7.99 depending on size and retailer.

My Review:

I have tried it on 2 different kinds of stains from my everyday household.

The first load was baby clothes.  I have a 2 year old and boy does she make a mess.  I pre-treated the stains on her clothes and then washed them.  Now I did noticed that some of the stains were barely there, but I don't know if it was because I missed part of the stain or what.  But I did notice that the whites were a little brighter and they smelled wonderful.  Overall I would give it an A- on baby stains.

Second load was my husband's work clothes.  My husband works around food all day, everyday for his job.  So he gets stains galore on his clothes.  Thank goodness he wears black pants, but besides the point.  I pre-treated the stains on his shirts and this go around I made sure I had every inch of the stains covered.  After they dried, I inspected them and noticed it did a better job this time.  And once again, they clothes smelled really fresh.  So it makes me feel good about his work clothes knowing he's going to work in great smelling clothes.  So on this load I would give it an A on work load stains.

Try it For Yourself:

Now that I have told you my opinion on this product, why not try it for yourself!  You can get a free sample to try here: FreeSamplePurex.com

Purex Crystals Review

I received a package from Purex Insiders awhile back with Purex Crystals Fabric Softener.  Boy was I excited to see this box on my doorstep!

Well I opened it up and found a a cute little bottle of the crystals along with a coupon to get a free full sized product!  **Happy Dance**

Well needless to say I went straight to the laundry basket and loaded up the washer.  Well wait, how do you use it?  Here are the instructions from the site itself:

ADDED WITH LAUNDRY AT THE START OF THE WASH CYCLE
Why struggle with plastic fabric softener balls, risk staining your clothes or waste time
waiting for the rinse cycle? Simply add Purex Complete Crystals Softener directly with
your laundry at the beginning of every wash cycle to infuse fabrics with long lasting
freshness.

Sounds easy enough, right?  You betcha!  To me this is much easier than having to wait till part of the cycle is done to then add the liquid softener.  Here's how it works:

CRYSTALS DISSOLVE INFUSING FABRICS WITH FRESHNESS
Laundry scent lovers will perk up as freshness is infused into clothes with this new fabric
softener. Over time, traditional oil-based softeners coat fibers causing harmful oily
residue to accumulate. Purex Complete Crystals Softeners penetrate fabrics to reduce
fiber entanglement and smooth frayed fibers providing a naturally soft feel.

So I go through the wash and then dry my clothes.  I couldn't believe how awesome they smelt!  So I folded them up and into the dresser they went without a word to my husband to see if he could notice anything. Now before I tell you how this all work out with my family let me tell you a little bit about this product.

You see it's different because it's safe for all laundry and better for fabrics.  It's also HE and regular washing machine safe.  It's worry and problem free because Purex Complete Crystals Softeners are safe for all laundry and will not harm, wear down or discolor your fabrics like oil-based softeners. It's safe for all fabrics, including baby clothes, athletic wear, towels, and whites, unlike other softeners.  According to Purex:

 Crystals WILL:
• Preserve the flame retardant benefits of your children’s clothes
• Retain your athletic wear’s wicking ability which draws sweat away from your body
• Maintain your towels’ built-in ability to absorb water
• Keep your white clothing from yellowing and graying vs. using traditional softeners
The product won’t harm your clothes and is safe and convenient for the entire family!

They have 3 different scents you can try.   The blue one is Fresh Spring Waters (the one I got), Lavender Blossom is purple, and the yellow one is Tropical Splash.

Suggested retail is $3.99 to $5.99 depending on what region and retailer you get it from.  It is available in food, drug and mass retailers nationwide.  Sounds like a deal to me.  You don't really use that much per load.  You just pour into the cap to the line you would like and toss in the wash.

Now for my review.  I personally loved it.  The scent and feel of my clothes.  My husband liked it too, but he didn't really notice to much difference.  To me, the clothes were softer, even my blankets.  The smell lasted for a few days, but not too long did it fade off.  I only had one problem with it.  My daughter's skin didn't like it at all.  She got a little rash from wearing the clothes that were washed in the crystals and I had to deal with that for almost a month of trying to get the clothes free of it.  But that's just a lesson learned, my 2 year old daughter has sensitive skin.  Not too big of a problem.  I would buy it for me for my clothes and I like the product enough to keep in the house, but since I would be the only one using it on my own clothes, I decided to just keep it out of my routine for the laundry and saved my money for better things like air fresheners.  But I gave my remaining product to my Mother in Law which absolutely loves this products and has continued to buy it.

So overall I give this product a B.  Just because I had problems with it, but it was a great product and my Mother in Law loved it.
Basically this is a great product for ease of use and smelly-ness.  But just because I encountered a small problem from my family doesn't mean it's not a good product for yours!

All opinions are my own and I was not paid to put this review on here.  Yes, Purex supplied the product to me.  But that was all Purex did.  This is not a sponsored post.
